People are often unreasonable,
illogical and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.

People may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;

出处

《无论如何（Do It Anyway）》，特蕾莎修女（Mater Teresia，1910~1997），世界著名的天主教慈善工作者，主要替印度加尔各答的穷人服务。因其一生致力于消除贫困，于1979年得到诺贝尔和平奖。这是她在印度加尔各答孤儿院的墙上写下的诗。

1950年她创立罗马天主教仁爱传教会，为患艾滋病、麻风和结核者提供居所，运营粥厂、药房、诊所、儿童及家庭咨询机构、孤儿院及学校。传教会成员必须贞洁、贫穷及服从三誓愿，以及第四个誓愿“全心全意为最贫苦的人服务”。

解读

特蕾莎修女，有人相信她是圣徒，因为她把自己全然奉献给神，奉献给一无所有穷困的人们；也有人认为她是魔鬼，同样是因为她把自己全然奉献给神，所作所为在世俗的眼里，是如此地荒谬。

从不同的角度，我们自然就能看到截然不同的两个人。

这两个视角，其实并没有什么分别，别忘了，无论从哪个视角去看，我们都只是站在一旁，从不同的角度去「评判」。我们其实还有另一个视角，那就进入她的内心，将自己的心灵注入，由内而外去看这个世界，去「理解」。

幸好有这么一本书，叫做《来，做我的光（Come Be My Light）》，收录了她的许多私人信件，让我得以走进她的内心，超越简单的符号，看见一个复杂而真实的人。

在世人眼中，她总是面带微笑，无比虔诚地信仰着上帝，并依照神的旨意帮助「最穷的穷人（The Poorest of the Poor）」。

她创立了「仁爱传教修女会（Missionaries of Charity）」，公开宣发终身圣愿：贞洁，贫穷，服从和全心全意、不求回报的为穷人中最穷的人服务。她创建了「垂死者之家（Home for the Dying Destitute）」给将要离世的穷困的人们以关心与慰藉。

但是只有她自己知道，在轻松愉快的微笑面容之下，在孜孜不倦的工作之下，是内心深不见底的黑暗、空虚与干枯。在这几十年之中，她的内心只有黑暗、寂寞与持续不断的痛苦，因为她感受不到她所信奉的神。

只有了解到这些，我才理解「无论如何（Do It Anyway）」的另一层含义，即「我信仰神，哪怕神已经将我抛弃」。

也许，真正的信仰，不凭借任何其他东西的存在而存在，就如同「光」。正因如此，它才能够坚不可摧。我相信也只有这样的信仰，才能击溃这个冰冷黑暗的世界，创造改变。

如果把人比作一艘船，那我们大多数人，不过是把船锚与其他的船相连，束缚于他人飘忽不定的眼光、看法与想法中；有一些人，则是把船锚固定在海底的岩石里，遵从于大大小小的各类理论、法则与规条里；但是，还有那么很少很少的人，他们把船锚抛到了天顶的星星之上，服膺于某种使命、愿景与信念。

我常常问自己为什么，也把这当作是一个好习惯。可是回头一看，从另一个方面来说，到底是为什么问这么多为什么呢？如果每一件事情，都要问为什么，那到底还有什么是毫无疑问、确凿无疑的呢？

对于特蕾莎修女而言，她确凿无疑的是她所发下的誓愿「凡是神所求的，都要给予，绝不拒绝（To give God anything that He may ask, Not to refuse Him anything）」，对于此，她没有半点疑惑，这一条信念，构成了她坚实无比的内核。

为了在这个混乱而复杂的世界里有所作为，我们都需要一个稳定而坚固的内核，去驱动我们的生命。它是引领航向的灯塔，是天顶的闪亮星辰，是藏于生命最深处的光。

也许只有拥有了这样的内核，我们才能穿越无穷无尽的黑暗。

这是我时间花得最多的一篇功课了，用了整整4天的时间查阅各种资料，终于完成了。
